Catatoga has been developed by Merril Trust. Since day one Merrill Trust has taken a long term view of their investment in – and the future value of - this community. We have had some recent challenges to be sure, but as a private investment trust we have always enjoyed an added degree of stability that only a strong asset base and prudent long-range planning can provide.

Over the past several years the Merrill Trust has wisely invested its considerable resources into upgrading, enhancing, and expanding Catatoga’s infrastructure and amenities while preserving our community’s most valuable asset…the pristine woodlands, streams, lake and wildlife that surround us.  New construction on the Lakeside Lodge, Creekside Cottages and Hawks Ridge homes has occurred at a deliberate pace and to exacting standards of craftsmanship that will serve our residents and club members well for generations to come.

Resort development experts now believe that buyers still in the market will require three essential elements from any community in which they are considering a purchase:  fully completed infrastructure to all home sites and houses offered for sale;   all amenities in place and available for immediate use; and a substantial number of finished homes already sold and occupied if only on a part-time basis.  It is fortunate, but no accident, that Catatoga is ideally positioned to not only satisfy these needs, but also to offer our buyers tremendous value with some home sites priced below $100,000, fully furnished new homes under $650,000, and a limited number of Private Residence Club shares as low as $125,000.
